About I Care For Seniors

I have been a registered Nurse for 37 years. I have a well rounded background in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Rehabilitation, as well as Legal Nurse Consulting and Senior Care Consulting.

I was inspired to enter this field as a young woman helping in the care of my father, who suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for many years. In my nursing career, I have been involved in Community Programs with the Visiting Nurse Association dealing with the elderly.

My passion for helping seniors began shortly after my mother-in-law passed away in 1991. My father-in-law, Edward (pictured with me in this website) had been taking his wife to her doctors for many years and had completely neglected his own health.

Shortly after her death, he began having knee problems requiring surgery. I began to accompany him to doctor appointments, where the first major discovery was extremely high blood pressure, which needed treatment immediately before he could have surgery.

Since that time, I have been with him for everything from blood pressure check-ups to cataracts, knee surgery, as well as major heart surgery. I have been there to help explain DOCTOR'S instructions, medications, available treatment options, procedures, etc. in terms that he can understand and therefore he is much more compliant.

Over the years, I have assisted other people ranging from simple consultations to more in depth assessments, including referrals to professional resources as needed.

I know there are many seniors out there who do not understand or are afraid to ask questions; therefore they may not be able to follow through with what is prescribed for them.

I would like to offer your loved one the same care and concern as I have given family members and clients who have asked for my assistance.
